Notable Trees in Arlington
It’s not too late to nominate a notable tree in your neighborhood for the Arlington County Notable Tree Award, another way to highlight green infrastructure. Anyone can submit a nomination. Please obtain consent from private property owners prior to submitting a nomination.

Criteria: (1) unusual species for this area, (2) particularly large size, (3) historical interest – associated with an event, famous person or building or (4) neighborhood- a tree of particular significance to the neighborhood.

Nomination forms are available online at or by contacting 703/228-7747 or jbartalon@arlingtonva.us. Awards for notable trees selected are made each Arbor Day in Arlington.


Project BudBurst 2008 is here!
Project BudBurst is a project of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research in collaboration with universities, botanic gardens and other organizations across the nation. The project tracks climate change through compiling observations of the timing of flowering and other developmental (phonological) changes in plants.
